SORSOGON City residents now have a newly refurbished health center thanks to the rehabilitation of Sorsogon West District Health Office courtesy of BDO Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of BDO Unibank.
Located in Tugos, Sorsogon City, the rehabilitated structure was turned over to local officials in inaugural ceremonies attended by BDO Foundation program director Rose Espinosa, BDO Sorsogon City branch head Manny Gutlay and BDO Sorsogon-J.P. Rizal Street branch head Matt Nuñez.
Also present were Sorsogon City mayor Sally Lee, Sorsogon City vice mayor Jonathan Balintong and Sorsogon West District health officer Dr. Rolando Dealca, M.D.
Funded by BDO Foundation, the project is part of its disaster response advocacy and rehabilitation program in provinces devastated by disasters.
Sorsogon is one of several provinces severely affected by Typhoon Nona in December 2015.
The foundation rehabilitated Sorsogon West District Health Office and its clinics, consultation rooms, treatment rooms, breastfeeding station, birthing facilities, furniture and fixtures. A waiting lounge for the elderly and play area for children complete with books and toys were also built.
The project was made possible by the BDO Sorsogon City branch, which recommended Sorsogon West District Health Office, formerly known as Tugos Rural Health Unit, to the foundation.Original article is from Malaya published on March 20, 2017.
