The Irony of Abundant supply of Buko


This is stand for a PHP40-peso cup buko shake. For some reason, I decided to try it.

This stand, located in one of the malls in Metro Manila,  offers a PHP40-peso cup buko shake. For some reason, the author and his wife decided to buy one.

 

The author encountered this kiosk, inside Gaisano Sorsogon, selling Buko products. The author appreciates the fact that locales (?) can afford to buy such expensive products nowadays. But it’s also ironic that we have such kiosk nowadays considering that Buko products should be relatively cheap and highly available in the city.

 

Numerous coconut trees in Brgy. Capuy are still available. However, the author doesn't really miss it when in town.

Coconut farmers bringing their produce from the hills of Sorsogon City. They do this daily, rain or shine.
