Ready to Adapt a Light House?

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) is still struggling to restore all of the light houses in the Philippines. According to an old report, 90% of these light houses have been restored. Furthermore, old light houses need the most attention before they reach the point of beyond repair.

One encouraging development is about the Thomsons who adapted a light house in Lobo, Batangas. together with the local government and the Philippine Tourism Authority. This must be under PCG’s “Adopt a Lighthouse” program.

According to a March 2010 report, the light house in Pilar, Sorsogon is inactive. Anyone willing to adapt it?

  1. Dear Friends:
Can you please tell us the cost of adopting the light house at Pilar, Sorsogon? Perhaps Overseas Sorsoganons can be rallied to provide the funding. Perhaps your website and our online publication, the, can team up to do the promotional blitz about the Pilar light house and possibly the “parola” in Magallanes town also.
Thank you for your anticipated reply,
