Exploring Sorsogon – Dino Ancestral House

There’s this old house along Peralta St. in the poblacion, near Brgy. Burabod taas. The author doesn’t have any information about the house, though, he still remembers when it still had a restaurant on its ground floor; and if his memory serves him right, it was a pension house for some time.

Aside from reading from several articles that this is the ancestral house of the Dinos, the late patriarch was one of the Governors of the province, the author has no additional information.

Nowadays, it remains closed. Though, when the author took these pictures, there were some signs of activities inside the premises. Outside the house, the area serves as parking space for public jeepneys.

The old Dalisay Lodge along Peralta St. Its not open to the public anymore and in front of it is now a make shift jeep's parking space.

The side of Dalisay Lodge.

Dalisay Lodge is said to be the favorite breakfast resto of the politicians back in the old days. It's owned by the Dino Family.

This was a very nice house and has been inside a lot of times since one of the children was a classmate of mine in high school at the Colegio dela Milagrosa. Thank you for the old memories, including the old municipio where my father used to work, the kiosk where we used to gather during full moon and look across at the skating rink where we roller skated and used for dancing. There was even a swimming pool nearby but it din’t last long.

    Hi SC:
I apologize for not wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Your blog, after all, is one of the few remaining ties that bind me to the old town that was Sorsogon. Take care and God bless.

    Frank

Wow! This is the “Ancestral Home” of the Dino in Sorsogon, probably my/our great great grandfather. My father is from Casiguran and my grandfather’s root came from Bacon.

    Thanks for this post!

Now to find his brother’s home. He’s a military before.

I was just here last weekend. True, the lodge has been closed for some time now but I know some of the owners and they have plans of fixing the place up.
