MANILA, Philippines– Members of the 49th Infantry Batallion of the
Military officials said they engaged the communists in a 10-minute clash. As of press time, there are no reports of casualties.
The military received complaints the NPA members supposedly harassed residents and extorted them of their money.
Recovered from the scene were several improvised explosive devices, an M-16 rifle, a caliber-45 pistol and several supposedly subversive documents. – report by Erick Baldo, ABS-CBN News Bicol
