MANILA, Philippines – Four persons, including two children, were hacked to death in Sorsogon on Monday morning, police said.
Chief Inspector Gregorio Villanueva of Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) Sorsogon said Geraldine Villanueva and Corazon Maravilla were found dead inside their house in Barangay Pandan Castilla by Maravilla’s father-in-law, Angeilto Alcantara.
Villanueva’s children, Anica (5) and Joseph Jr. (3) were also killed.
Authorities found several hack wounds on the victims’ bodies, while Maravilla’s hand was even chopped off by the suspect.
Castilla police chief Inspector Alfredo Nierva said they have already identified a possible suspect, after they found a bolo that was allegedly used by the suspect inside a drum.
Nierva said revenge might be the motive behind the killing.
Villanueva is an elementary teacher from Pandan Elementary School.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident. – Report from Jose Carretero, ABS-CBN News Bicol
